An Angel Told Me So: Discovering Spirit Teachers & Divine Guidance with Michael McAdams

Today, I'm joined by Michael McAdams, a lifelong seeker of spiritual truth and co-author of An Angel Told Me so, a moving collection of messages received directly from spirit teachers and angels. Michael has spent decades bridging the physical and spiritual realms, offering guidance that brings both comfort and clarity to those questioning what lies beyond this life. Speaker 2:Well, hi, nadine, thank you so much. Thank you for having me.
Speaker 1:I really appreciate you dialing in today and I'm really looking forward to hearing all of the things. This story that you've got spans over decades, so do you want to start by setting the scene for us, and then we'll get stuck into all of the nitty gritty.
Speaker 2:Sure I'd be happy to all of the nitty-gritty Sure I'd be happy to. I was brought up with a foundation of faith church-based, Bible-based. My grandmother was a Pentecostal pastor, my uncle was a fiery Pentecostal preacher and I was brought up in the Pentecostal church. Are you familiar with Pentecostal? Not really. No, it's evangelical Christian, church-based, Bible-based, literal interpretation of the Bible actually pretty strict literal interpretation, and my mother was extremely religious. But even when I was young, I just had I had questions. I mean eight, nine, 10 years old. I had questions about descriptions of heaven and hell and various things that were being taught in church. But I still attended church, Sunday school and up until I was about 12, 13 years old, and and then I was finally given a choice and and I thought you know, I think you know there must be more, there has to be more, and a lot of people feel that way and there was a post on Facebook that I saw recently and it said I don't want to just believe, I want to know. And a lot of people are coming to that mindset. You hear that attendance in church and organized religion is kind of waning a bit and people we've been told to have faith and just believe for 2,000 years and people are coming to the point where they say, well, you know, I'm interested, I want to find out new information, I don't want to just believe, I want to know.
Speaker 2:So I had gotten involved in spiritual material. I actually used to do psychic readings. I had a table to group called psychic world in cincinnati, ohio, and I was able to do psychometry and that's holding rings, watches, keys, anything that carries a person's vibration, and people would sit down at my table. I didn't engage conversation, pump them for information, I would just ask their first name. They would give me something to hold. I had a legal tablet and I would relax my mind and I would start to get a message for them in thought, Sometimes a page, page and a half. When it got to the end it would stop. I would read it to them. Sometimes they'd cry and it was more confirmation as to what they were going through rather than actual prophecy. And we're all led with that ability to receive. I believe that we're born with the innate ability to receive information, guidance, direction, purpose from our own spirit teachers. Spirit guides, master teachers and spirit teachers are the same thing as angels, just viewed from a different perspective one spiritual, one religious.
Speaker 1:I was going to ask you about that actually, where you see that difference between religion and spirituality, because they're both belief systems, essentially, aren't they? What's the different, what are the differences that you can see, aside from that, spirit versus angel?
Speaker 2:well, a number of people. They'll ask us oh, I don't want to mess with spirits, I don't want to um, I don't want to um, and you know, engage with phasms or spirit teachers. And these are not or I mean not spirit teachers, but spirits. And these are not spirits. These are spirit teachers again, which are the exact same thing as angels, just viewed from a different perspective. You have angels, archangels, guardian angels. You have spirit guides, spirit teachers, master teachers, and there is a book called the Urantia book, which is really interesting. Did you ever hear of that before?
Speaker 1:No, how do you spell that?
Speaker 2:It's U-R-A-N-T-I-A Urantia U-R-A-N-T-I-A. On my website, which is spiritspeakscom, I have a link in the Great Links page to that book and it's an interesting book. Urantia is their name for the earth, so it's really the earth book, and this was transmitted through an individual in 1935, first published in 1955. It's been translated into 27 languages, over 4 million copies in print.
Speaker 2:There is a section in the book that talks about personalized thought adjusters and it says that at the age of our first moral decision, when we make a decision that shows that we know right from wrong, usually about the age of four to four and a half years old, we are then assigned a personalized thought adjuster, guardian angel, spirit teacher, and that this adjuster will stay with us for life, helping us, guiding us, you know, leading us, advising us. But because we have been born with a number of gifts from God, and one of those gifts is a pesky little gift called free will and we can accept or reject any advice, guidance, direction, support that we're given, and if we decide to choose our own way rather than something that's suggested from our spirit teacher or angel, we do so at our own peril. So the spirit teachers are the same thing as angels, just viewed from a different perspective. We're not alone. We have that ability to communicate with the spiritual realm and the spiritual realm from a religious point of view, that would be considered heaven.
Speaker 1:But I believe that the spiritual realm is much more than just a place called heaven it's here, isn't it? It's everywhere. Isn't it that spiritual place, rather than it being? Do you feel like that, rather than it being a separate place, heaven, that we are within the spiritual realm all of the time?
Speaker 2:Well, we exist in a physical universe, on a physical plane, yeah, but the spiritual realm exists adjacent to this physical plane and we are separated by the spiritual realm by a veil, a vibration, a frequency. We don't really know what the medium is. And I tell people I said there is no death, we never really die, it's just graduation. We ride around in these bodies the way we ride around in our cars. These bodies are just a vehicle to negotiate this physical plane and when you cross over, when you graduate, you're going to, you know, into that spiritual realm. And do you go to an evaluation center. You know, do you get to evaluate your life, what you did right, what you did wrong, what you might have done better, how you treated people. It possible that once we go through that evaluation, that when it's our time, we are then assigned to a different set of parents in a certain social station for whatever it is we're supposed to learn in that lifetime, and if you're open to that, then you're open to reincarnation yeah, love it.
Speaker 1:you talked about um, that connection with spirit or that separate realm, and your mum had great skills we call them skills in that area. Would we say she was a channel?
Speaker 2:I have seen people that have channeled messages and teachings, and channeling people will normally tune in, relax their mind, drop down in level and channel a spirit, teacher or an entity and they sometimes will take on a different voice or a different expression. I've seen that and then I've seen other people do what they call automatic writing, where they will have a tablet and a pen. They will again tune in, drop down in level and their hand will start to move and write a message, and they are doing it kind of unconsciously. And Wilma, my mother, who received these messages and teachings for 22 years, she did not do either one of those things. She was not channeling, she was not doing automatic writing.
Speaker 2:She had received in the thought before and she was working around the kitchen one day and these words started to come into her mind. She knew it was incoming. She had been receiving these messages and teachings dictated directly from spirit teachers for probably at least eight or nine years and she was torn. I was the one that really said you know, these messages and teachings are so deep, so profound that they really need to be published in books and she was a little hesitant. So, working around the kitchen one day, this, this message started to come into her mind and thought she picked up pen and paper. She had beautiful handwriting and she wrote this out in in longhand and she felt that this was confirmation she should put these messages and teachings in a book. She had been praying about it. May I share this message with you and your audience.
Speaker 1:Absolutely yeah, let's go for it.
Speaker 2:So this was a message again that she received and thought Emptiness is part of fulfillment. Let your resources fill the void left so that distinction of your purpose can be found. Expression is always self-explanatory. Therefore, look inside and anchor all your beliefs beside those still waters. That will take away your troubled view and renew your strength to recapture that which was lost but is now found to be adequate to pursue the course set before you. And as you reconcile your being to represent those qualities that have been left intact, God will see to it that, although circumstances have been trying to say the least, your weariness will disappear as clouds, once removed, allow the sun to shine to dispel the gloom and darkness that has pervaded your countenance and, as once described before, Okay.
Speaker 2:And she felt that message was confirmation that, yes, you should put these messages and teachings in books.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and so you've started to do that, but it's taken some time, hasn't it? I think we spoke just before we press record. 2019 was the first time that you started to put these teachings into books, or have they been published beforehand, before that?
Speaker 2:Yeah, actually 2017, when volume one was first published, but she had started receiving these messages and teachings in august of 1977 so what's happening between 1977 and?
Speaker 2:well, she received these messages and teachings for 22 years. Right, life is distracting. And she was continuing. She had no idea how long these messages and teachings were going to be continued. They never gave her a timeframe, it just continued.
Speaker 2:And she was more than just a willing receptacle, I mean, she was anxious to be able to sit down in these dedicated sessions. Now, when she was led to sit down and receive a message, she would be told in her mind you know, we have a message for you. And she had set up an electric typewriter in her kitchen and so she would be led to sit down and receive. She would put a sheet of paper in the typewriter, light a candle, say a prayer, ask for protection because you are opening your mind, and she would see three or four words just float into her mind and hang there. They would not go away until she typed them. Once she typed those three or four words, they would just fade away and three or four more would show up. Well, that's how she got these messages full page, single space, typed many times with no paragraphs.
Speaker 2:And in these messages and teachings, the spirit teachers repeatedly refer to themselves in first person. We feel, we believe, we advise. Our view encompasses more than your view is permitted. One line in a message said we hear the spirit cries above the words you speak. Who talks like that? I don't talk like that, and it's just an amazing body of material.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and she would receive. She would receive a message to her, addressed to her, from her spirit teachers. And then she would receive a message to me, addressed to me, from my spirit teachers. And then she would receive a message to me, addressed to me, from my spirit teachers. And you could tell that they were different teachers because they had a different tone. They would talk about what we were each dealing with in our lives at the time. But it's like these messages and teachings are woven with a universal thread and everyone who has read these messages have said well, this sounds like what I'm dealing with, this sounds like they're talking to me and I tell people. I said when you get the book, an angel told me so when you get the book, read each message once as it was given for my mother and given for me. Then read that same message again as if it's being presented for you and see what hits. And it's amazing what hits.
Speaker 1:Amazing. How long did it take your mom to receive one page, if she was doing it in like three words at a time. That sounds like a lengthy process. It took quite a while.
Speaker 2:In a session where she would receive a message for her and a message for me. It would take three to four hours oh, my Three to four hours, with just a short break in between the end of her message and the start of mine.
Speaker 1:Okay, so both on the same day. That was five in one, yeah.
Speaker 2:And as the messages and teaching continued, higher teachers started moving in, giving even deeper and more profound teachings, and a lot of these new messages were not necessarily addressed to Wilma, my mother or myself, but they would mention us many times in the messages. But it's like these messages and teachings they really do apply personally to everyone who reads them teachings.
Speaker 1:They really do apply personally to everyone who reads them. Yes, they've got a lot of relevance. I haven't read the whole book, but I have read some of them and I can totally see how those messages can have relevance. I'd love to know a bit more about your experience with the messages that were received were received on uh, on your behalf from your mom. Um, how old were you and what did you make of all of it when you were receiving those messages?
Speaker 2:what was your question?
Speaker 1:again um were you very like, how old were you when you in, uh, when your mom started receiving those messages and, um, how did you receive them when they came through?
Speaker 2:Well, I was probably late 30s, late 30s, early 40s, and my mother was really hesitant. She wasn't real sure about spiritual, material, spirit teachers because she had such a faith-based, bible based background and I was the one that really not coerced but tried to end, you know, say, look, you know this, this is real, you know, you have this ability. And she had had been spoken to and thought pretty much all of her life. Uh, on my website, spiritspeakscom, there are tabs at the top. There's a bio for me buy it for my mother and there's a tab for a television interview that my mother gave in Cincinnati and you can watch her interview.
Speaker 2:She's the pretty lady in white on the left and she talks about how, even when she was young, when I was young, that she would be doing dishes, just not really thinking about anything in the kitchen, and these messages, these teachings, would be coming into her mind. And she wasn't writing anything down at the time. She wasn't really sure where it was coming from, but she admitted that when it stopped she said, well, that was really good and profound, profound and again, we're all capable of receiving, we're all spoken to, um, and it's really just a matter of paying attention. And, uh, these spirit teachers. Their joy is in our recognition of their existence. But as these messages and teachings continued, I had, um, just encouraged my, and she would always make a copy of each message, one for her and one for me. So I was reading in real time every session that she would do. She would get sometimes two or three in a week, and sometimes it was one or two in a week, and one day she got three messages in one day, one in the morning, one mid-afternoon and later that evening they came back again. And these spirit teachers, it's like they had found such a willing receptacle in Wilma Jean, my mother, but on her television interview.
Speaker 2:On the website I have posted a message from volume two of the book, which is not out yet. I'm looking for a new publisher. And this was the only time in a session where she was led to sit down and receive. Two different spirit teachers moved in in the same session, gave two different messages and signed two different names, and it was obvious that the second teacher was a different teacher than the first because the whole cadence and phrasing of the message is different. Now that first teacher's message was really little more than a long paragraph, but the next to the last line is the line that made me sit up and take notice. May I share this message with you and your audience.
Speaker 1:Yes, please.
Speaker 2:And this will give people a feel and a taste of how these spirit teachers speak, and they don't speak the way we do. So this was the first teacher's message. There is a resurrection period through which man must travel in order to come into the realm of things God-like. You are to consume and digest all that is given here, as this comes from one highly qualified to meet the needs of things God-like. You are to consume and digest all that is given here, as this comes from one highly qualified to meet the needs of this generation. You are not the sole property of yourselves.
Speaker 2:God still holds the everlasting command over your being, and in him must one take refuge. You are to be considered as one who has been stripped of all belongings and left to die by the wayside In this manner. Are you, then, open to any help that would be forthcoming? You are, by your very nature, ones who would depend on your own intellect to carry you through. However, by giving of your soul into the hands of God, do you prosper and develop more freely into that which denies the outcome of some situations, knowing full well that it is the hand of God leading and directing you so that you may arise victorious in the end, there is never a time when you will be without the Father, nor his ever-loving approaches to see that you follow the path that directs you homeward.
Speaker 2:Take note that we say homeward. As your heavenly Father so resides in that vast and surmountable environment of time and space, so shall ye abide in joint communication with him, by the grace with which he covers you and by your ability to accept this grace and use it for your own development. There are others here who wish to make themselves known to you, so I will step aside for this time. My love and devotion follows you as you trod onward, but ever faithful to your goal. That message was signed your loving guide.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Now that next to the last line is the line that made me sit up and take notice. He says there are others here who wish to make themselves known to you. My question is who are the others and where is here? What do you mean? There are others here. Where are you in relation to us in this physical plane?
Speaker 1:And what did you come up with?
Speaker 2:Well, these are spirit teachers adjacent to us in this physical plane, but they exist in the spiritual realm. In that spiritual realm which is right next to this physical plane, you know people with a faith-based foundation. They picture going up into heaven. You cross over, you die, you go up into heaven or down into hell. But the spiritual realm is adjacent, right next to us, like you said, in real time, and there is two-way communication between us and the spiritual realm in real time on a constant basis. We're not alone and we each have our own spirit teachers, spirit guides, angels. Again, if that's your perspective, that will help us communicate with us. You know, I'd slow down a bit if I were you. I wouldn't buy that car if I were you. And then look at the people that talk about their parking spot angel.
Speaker 1:Yes, I have one.
Speaker 2:Most people do. I have a parking spot angel and it's really just a spirit teacher. You know it's a spirit teacher that's helping us, and so people should feel comforted and allow yourself. You can make decisions on your own. You're not required to obey, but it's nice to know that you have help and guidance. If you need it and if you're unsure what to do, you know, say a prayer, ask for protection, contact your own spirit teacher and see what they have to say. Just be open.
Speaker 1:Yeah, love it. When you received messages in the book. You had some quite poignant ones that the ones that I read. I feel from when I read them that there was certainly a message that this was your role in life to be a seeker as you are and to share this wisdom with others, and that was quite clear within some of the messages you received. Have I understood that correctly?
Speaker 2:No, I agree with you completely and it does seem like they've had a plan for me for a long time. And you know, we're all, we're all brought into this life for a reason, born to a certain set of parents and a certain social station, and, again, based on choices and decisions that we make. I have, for as long as I can remember, tried to make the highest choices possible and stay true to my mission, stay true to what I feel that I'm here for. And we do, you and I do the same thing. We're really just shining a light on a path. You know people that are drawn to you and drawn to your information. You know people that are drawn to you and drawn to your information and they may be searching, seeking, trying to get some handle on why they're having to deal with what they're dealing with. And by shining that light on the path, making the information available, we're just helping them along their way. You know they still have their own free will.
Speaker 2:Now that first spirit teacher, your loving guide, had moved out and a second teacher moved in in the same session, gave another page and a half single-spaced, typed, and I will not read the entire message. But these spirit teachers, in these messages. They repeatedly end the message with a deep, profound last paragraph or a really deep, meaningful last sentence. And this last paragraph of the second teacher's message that moved in. May I share this with you and your audience. Let's go for it. I just thought it was just really profound. So this was the second teacher that moved in. You are not a sheep, herded here and there, but you are likened unto the lamb that is cared for, individually nourished and loved until the full and total development allows it to be master of itself. So is man, so kept and denied only those things that would not, in the long run, nourish his spirit. God is all wise and loving in his dispensations. We are not to judge the workings of our father, nor are we to judge each other. Work always to improve your own beings, for in the end time there lies your soul, with all the nourishment that you have given it, totally dependent upon the outcome of your intentions. And that message was signed your loving spiritual teacher. So it really was two different spirit teachers with two different names that had come through and shared that information and messages in that session with Wilma.
Speaker 2:We're dealing with people. You've got people who are open to spiritual information and material, who recognize that we do have spirit guides, spirit teachers. And then you've got people with a really strong foundation of faith, whose life is dependent upon church religion in the bible, and who just know in their heart of hearts that we live this one shot blink of an eye existence, no matter how long you live, and then at the end of our physical lives we're going to go to heaven or go to hell for all eternity, with no chance for a do over, no chance for a reprieve. And I knew a lady this was a number of years ago who had a son that was constantly getting into trouble, constantly from the time he was 14 years old until he was 28,. The money that they spent on fines and attorneys and bail it was just one thing after another. And she was Baptist, extremely religious, went to church every Sunday and Wednesday evening, carried a Bible around with her everywhere she went, and she knew the spiritual information that I was involved with and I had actually published the book at the time.
Speaker 2:And I asked her one time. I said is there anything that your son could do, anything at all that would cause you not to want to give him another chance? And she just put her head down and said no. And I said what makes you think God loves us any less? Do you really believe that, based upon choices, decisions that we've made in this short time that we're in these physical bodies, that we are going to be sentenced to eternal damnation and punishment for all eternity, with no chance for a reprieve, no chance for a do-over, because we were stupid, because we made bad choices, bad decisions, had bad parents, chose bad friends, and so I have. Like I said, even when I was young, I always had problems with the belief in heaven that you would go to for all eternity again based upon this one short time of our existence. I mean, look at the gangbangers in Chicago that are shot and killed on the street at the age of 15. Are they going to be given another?
Speaker 1:chance.
Speaker 2:I think they should be. And then you can get killed in a car accident at 30. You can live to be a ripe old age of 80, 85. But in astronomical terms, geological terms, it's really just a blink of an eye and we are here for the path that we're on. I mean, look at the children born to Bill Gates and Steven Spielberg. You know they'll want for nothing. You know, granted, they don't have their challenges, but that kind of wealth and connection makes all the difference in the world. And then you've got people born to alcoholic fathers, drug addicted mothers. I mean, you could be born in communist China, north Korea, Russia, you know you could be born anywhere.
Speaker 2:And then look at the people in all over the planet. You know, living on the streets of LA and San Francisco, drugged out to the max. You know their life is one drug fix after another and they live on the street. I mean, to you and I and to most people, that would be hell. That would be hell of a life to live. Maybe that is their hell, that they're living based on their choices and decisions. And then they will go to an evaluation center once they crossed over and say look what you did, look how you wasted your life. Look what you could have done better. I actually recommend three movies to. Are you a movie person? Do you like movies?
Speaker 2:I don't watch that much actually, I normally will recommend three movies to people that will open portals in their mind. Okay, give them a perspective of this existence. May I share those with you and your audience.
Speaker 1:Yeah let's do it.
Speaker 2:So the first movie is called Defending your Life. Okay, defending your Life, and these are older movies that has Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep in it. Okay, defending your Life, and I'll give these to you again when we get off the air.
Speaker 1:Yeah, great.
Speaker 2:The second one is called Always, and that has Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter in it, okay. And the third one is called the Last, mimsy M-I-M-Z-Y, and those are all three family friendly and they will definitely give you a perspective of existence as we see it, and it will open your eyes. It will really open your eyes.
Speaker 1:Okay, cool.
Speaker 2:Would you recommend those movies for someone who's a skeptic, who's doubtful about the Actually it would be good for skeptics who just aren't sure about what's going to happen once we cross over, or for people that feel that they have a handle on what's going to happen once we cross over, okay. Or for people that feel that they have a handle on what's going to happen when we cross over. They're just deep, profound endings to these movies. I mean, they'll make you think they're a little bit of a tearjerker at the end all three of them. Now, when I was, I think, I told you earlier that my grandmother uh, pastored a small pentecostal church just north of cincinnati and she would receive sermons dictated to her mind in thought that she would preach in church and even verses to songs. And if you said you had received a copy of the book and in the photo gallery in the, the center of the book, there are six verses that my grandmother received lying in a hospital in Columbus Ohio that she received in thought, that she had taken down with pencil and written on her, you know, with paper she had on her nightstand. And when I have done these interviews people say, well, your grandmother received, your mother received. They said, do you receive? And I said, yes, I have received messages, a personal message.
Speaker 2:For me, that was extremely profound, and when I was first looking for a publisher, I was on a number of different publisher websites. One of the publishers asked questions about your work. One of the questions was what makes your material unique? Why would anyone want to read this Great question? And I'm sitting. I was sitting where I'm sitting right now at my computer. I didn't really even ask for an answer. I just relaxed my mind and an answer started to be dictated to my mind. It was 12 lines long and it gave me time to type it down, and it didn't come fast like another one that I had received, and I just was amazed at this answer, because it's not an answer that I would have come up with. May I share this answer with you and your audience? Yes, please. So the question was what makes your material unique? And this is the answer that I was given.
Speaker 2:The uniqueness of any material is in the manner in which it touches the soul. An open and searching mind pulls the soul and the body in which it inhabits onward and upward with hunger and determination in its quest for spiritual nourishment, ever mindful that the path upon which we walk is the path toward God Lives, lived experiences, endured, goals accomplished and loved ones lost are all encounters upon that path. Strive always for the highest possible communication with our Heavenly Father. Believe in yourself as the father within you is guiding, leading, directing and comforting you upon this journey that we call life. Blessings be upon you as you walk your chosen pathway and you.
Speaker 1:That came through you, that was a message that came through you.
Speaker 2:That was a message that was given in answer to that question, and that was not me. I take no credit for that at all. I just said thank you, and that was one of my mother's favorite expressions when she would be given information or told that something was going to happen and it did. She would always say thank you. Spirit and again, their joy is in our recognition of their existence and by acknowledging that they have shared something that helped us along our way. That strengthens the connection and you just want that constant stream of help, guidance, direction. You still have the ability that you know pesky little gift called free will to do whatever you want in a given situation, but it's nice to know that help is available.
Speaker 1:Yes, so you've talked about your grandmother, your mother and yourself all having this gift um having this gift but you, you would, I think, you assert that anyone has this available to them, everyone.
Speaker 2:Everyone has the ability to receive everyone. We're all born with it, an innate ability that we're born with and it's really just a matter of recognizing it, cultivating it. And you know, the Bible says test the spirit, these spirit teachers. They don't mind taking a quiz. You know, if you have something that you want to test them on or say, well, what should I do here? Just ask. You know, if help is available and if they recommend something or if you feel led that you should do something a certain way, then you can try going that way or you can do whatever it is that you think you really should do yourself. See which turns out the best.
Speaker 1:What might be some of the ways that someone might receive. So, for example, I ask a question about a decision I want to make. Would it be a symbol, would it be a feeling, would it be something that I need to write down? Are there any particular or specific ways that we might know that this is us receiving guidance?
Speaker 2:The easiest way, I believe, for people to recognize incoming information, usually in thought. Not a lot of people are going to see words, not a lot of people are willing to channel or do automatic writing. So most all of us are receiving, in thought, impressions being led within our minds. And I tell people, I say the best thing that you can do is quiet your mind. You know you're in the car. First thing you do is turn on the radio. Try driving with the radio turned off, not really thinking about anything, but you're quieting your mind. But there are also people that say well, I'm afraid I don't want to quiet my mind and take a chance on any evil or negativity that may slip in. And I tell people the best thing that you can do is establish a filter, an aura of protection around your thought system.
Speaker 2:We each have our own personal thought system, like a little mini solar system with swirling thoughts and all this stuff that's going on within our minds. And you can establish a filter, a filter of protection that will not allow anything that is not of a positive nature or to your benefit to be made known to your mind. And I like to do that. I think one of the easiest and best ways to do it is with affirmations, and I'm sure you're familiar with affirmations. Yes, any positive statement that you care to make that will offer protection, guidance, direction, that will be beneficial to your thought system. And there is an affirmation that came to me years ago, so long ago, I don't even remember, it's just like it's always been there. Years ago, so long ago, I don't even remember, it's just like it's always been there. And it said let no thoughts ideas or information be made known.
Speaker 1:To my mind, that does not come from.
Speaker 2:God or his direct representatives.
Speaker 2:OK, and you may, you can repeat that as many times as necessary and if any negativity does slip in, if a thought that comes into your mind that you say, wait a minute, that's not my thought, that's nothing that I would think where and it's it's negative, then you can simply surround that with, encase it in whatever you want to encase it and send it deep into the universe out of your thought system, because you don't have to tolerate negative thoughts in your thought system. You have that control, that choice, and you expel any negativity that may come in. Now that doesn't mean that you can't think a negative thought. We're talking about incoming thoughts and you're looking to have that highest possible communication with God or our spirit teachers as you go about your way in your daily life.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and how long would someone need to practice this? Is it something that we can kind of tap into instantly, or is this something that requires some consistent practice, just to sort of open us up?
Speaker 2:Well, once you get used to the positive information and flow, it just comes naturally. It's like that constant stream of communication and you don't really need to sit down in a yoga position, light a candle, turn the lights off and meditate. You can just be sitting in the car, you know, not thinking about anything, and again you've got affirmations that you can say. These messages and teachings in the book An Angel Told Me so are just so positive and applicable to everyone that reads them. By being able to see and have these teachings apply to what most people are dealing with in their lives, that gives you the confidence to know that you too can receive and be spoken to on a personal basis.
Speaker 2:And there was a message that my mother received. She had received this message in Aprilil of a certain I forget the year, and then she had connected with a church group in cincinnati. She'd always wanted to make a trip to the holy land, so this church group was doing a tour to the holy land and she'd connected with this group and she had to get shots and get clothes and passport and had to get all this thing, all the things ready to make the trip. And it was a 10 day whirlwind trip over in Holy land, egypt, that sort of thing. When she came back, it was November before she was then able to sit down and receive another message, and it was a long message, almost three full pages, and toward the end, these the spirit teacher.
Speaker 2:That was a long message, almost three full pages, and toward the end, this spirit teacher that was presenting this message said that they recognized that there had been time lost while she was gone. So from april to november, she wasn't able to sit down in a dedicated session, and they, they referenced the time that had been lost while she was gone. So they are with us in real time, and I thought that was amazing. That's the first time I'd ever seen that where, you know, they acknowledged that. Um, you know, we missed you yeah we missed you yeah, I've noticed that.
Speaker 1:Um. So, right at the start of our conversation you talked about the difference between religion and spirituality and how you know someone's very religious. They think of heaven and hell and that's a lot, um, compared to spirituality, which is much more open and um and flowing, I guess, but a lot compared to spirituality, which is much more open and flowing, I guess. But a lot of the material that your mum downloaded and the references that you've made from the spirits do refer to God. What do you think of that? What do you think about that? Is that because of the, because your mom was religious or like, just kind of like? You're right, I know what you're saying.
Speaker 2:Wondering about that. She did come, she did approach these sessions from that point of view, which she had always had. But these spirit teachers being God's direct representatives, in these messages and teachings throughout the three volumes over 22 years, the running theme is God, jesus and the Holy Spirit, and they continually referenced God, jesus and the Holy Spirit in these messages. So they are, for all practical purposes, they would be considered angels by people with a foundation of faith, church-based, bible based. But they identify themselves by name as spirit guides, spirit teachers, sometimes singular, sometimes, sometimes plural, and it's like there's a collaboration. There may be a number of spirit teachers that will collaborate because they refer to themselves not only in first person but in plural. We feel we believe we advise.
Speaker 2:Our view encompasses more than your view is permitted, but a lot of the messages are signed with a singular name your loving guide, your loving spiritual teacher, wilma had received a message to her that was signed your spiritual counterpart. I have messages to me that were signed your spirit brothers, your spirit light, okay. Spirit brothers, your spirit light, okay. So they, they may be signed with singular name, but I believe there's a collaboration where a group of spirit teachers would gather together in these sessions with wilma and present this information you know, with with half a dozen spirit teachers speaking in one mind. I mean it's amazing to comprehend that that's possible. But it happened and I tell people, I say, if you ever wanted proof, real proof of the existence of a spiritual realm on the other side of this physical plane, these messages and teachings in the book are real proof.
Speaker 1:Yes, take us back to. Let's just go back to like the relevance of this work, because I'm conscious that we're kind of edging closer to the end of our hour and obviously we want to share more about the book specifically and the relevance that it might have for someone today. The messages in Volume 1 were received by your mum in 1977. You know, timing is always perfect. I think, um that they've only recent, really relatively recently, been published, but the relevance of these messages to people in 2025, what what's important about getting the word out there now?
Speaker 2:It's like these messages, teachings are so personable and so applicable again to everyone that reads them. There is no time. Even scientists will tell us that time as we know it doesn't really exist. You know, time is a series of moment points, and you and I are sitting here talking right now, and for us the time is now. And I tell people a week ago, whatever you were doing at this moment was for you now, and 10 days from now, whatever we're doing separately from each other will be for each of us now. Well, the trick is to live always and forever in the eternal now. Just live in the eternal now. And we're, you know, we're here for a certain period of time until our vehicle, our physical bodies wear out or we do something that we shouldn't have done and we're taken sooner than later.
Speaker 2:But these messages and teachings are just so applicable just because they were given in 1977. Does it make them any less applicable today, as people read these and look at their situations? And I tell people, I say you can be as close as possible to your spirit teachers, your spirit guides, your guardian angels, if that's your preference. That doesn't mean you're not going to have car problems from time to time Doesn't mean that you may not have family problems that you have to deal with. But if you know that you're not alone, that you really have proof that these messages and teachings will support you and these spirit teachers are here for you, your own spirit teachers are here for you. Your own spirit teachers are here for you that gives you the confidence to carry on and just realize that we're on a journey. You know life is a journey.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think one of the first messages that you read out my understanding of it was about the nature of our journey and how we are. For good or bad, our experiences are there and they're necessary for us to evolve on our path in this lifetime. Evolve on our path in this lifetime, and I think sometimes we can get caught up in the everyday life. But these teachings are kind of there to give us some hope, faith, perspective on what the journey actually is.
Speaker 2:That's true, that's true.
Speaker 1:Yeah, wow, what's your hope for the book? So we've done. Volume one has been released. You're hoping to release two more volumes, I believe.
Speaker 2:Correct. Yeah, there's going to be two. I'm going to do a revised edition. I'm looking for a new publisher. I'm going to do a revised edition of volume one, just for something that is more current being published. Yeah, and then I've got two more volumes. There was enough material as these messages and teachings were received over a period of 22 years 22 years and I have enough material for three full volumes.
Speaker 2:And these spirit teachers in these messages as the volume, as the messages continued, they started referencing higher teachers, even higher teachers than they were, and there was a line in a message that said these teachers present this message to us and we, in turn, present this information to you. So in the spiritual realm, there are numerous levels of spirit teachers, spirit guides, of spirit teachers, spirit guides, numerous levels, and whether it's rank, you know, we don't really know what was the movie it's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart, and his angel was an AS2. He hadn't received his wings yet, so he was an AS2, and he was helping Jimmy Stewart so he could get his wings. So, but these spirit teachers, they are available in real time for anyone and being able to read these messages and teachings, it just gives you the confidence to see what someone else has received and the way they've been spoken to, then you can know that that is applicable to your life as well.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah you can know that that is applicable to your life as well. Yeah, yeah, do you feel? No, let me start that question again. Legacy, this is something that your mom was experiencing for 20 years and you've obviously been a big part of that journey. How important is it for you to get that message out there to keep that alive?
Speaker 2:that experience alive as part of your legacy or your mum's legacy. Well, this you know, being able to do interviews like this and being able to do presentations to audiences, uh, book signings, that sort of thing Uh, this is what I do. This is all that I do. I mean, I've owned businesses in my life various businesses. Uh, I own different businesses for probably 30 years, but now this is my, my work, this is what I'm dedicated to do, and just being able to share this information with people, especially people who are troubled and people who are ready to know that, well, there has to be more. There just has to be. There just has to be. And the book An Angel Told Me, so it is available on my website, spiritspeakscom. It's in Barnes Noble's system. Speaker 1:bookstores, probably online, like we can do most things online, right All right, yeah, barnes, noble has it in their system.

Do you know that Amazon has a different site for every country English-speaking country in the world?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And I didn't realize that there's Amazon US, Amazon Australia.
Speaker 1:Australia, yeah.
Speaker 2:I went to an Amazon site in India and they had my book listed. They showed all the information and the price was in rupees oh right. And the price was in rupees oh right, their local currency. So you could order it from Amazon in India, but it was priced in rupees, which is their currency. It's pretty cool, isn't it? I thought that was interesting.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's pretty cool that you can access it.

Speaker 1:I think a real lesson for me that just popped into my head was just taking time to slow down so that we can experience those teachers more. I think is probably an important thing for us all to do.
Speaker 2:Correct being able to receive and work that into our thought system with all that we're having to deal with on a daily basis. Yeah Well, thank you again for having me.
